Early Release of the Reference Case from the Annual Energy Outlook 2008. The AEO2008 presents long-term projections of energy supply, demand, and prices through 2030. The AEO2008 Early Release only includes the reference case, which projects that energy-related U.S. CO2 emissions would increase 25% from 2006 through 2030. The full publication, including complete documentation and over 30 additional cases examining energy markets will be released early 2008. (link posted 13 December 2007)

The electricity requirement is implemented as a renewable portfolio standard (RFS), while the motor fuel standard is implemented as a renewable fuel standard (RFS).
